CAPCO will be hosting a FREE Community Poverty Simulation on Wednesday, October 16th at Grace Christian Fellowship on Fisher Ave from 9am-12pm noon!
CAPCO’s trained staff will take participants through “1 month” (i.e. 4, 15-minute weeks) of simulated poverty as they try to keep their homes, pay their bills, attain transportation, ensure their children’s needs are met, and “survive” this interactive & informative experience.
CAPCO has conducted for the past 20 years. As a Community Action Agency, part of our mission is to educate our community on the realities and misconceptions that people living in poverty face everyday. This event tells the stories of the people that we dedicate our lives to serve and so many across our nation trying to navigate systems that are often not set-up to lift people up, but often adds to the problem. This is meant to increase the awareness around the issues and give a voice to the many of us who have experienced poverty. This highly impactful and in-demand training by professional staff with trained AND lived experience helps to educate and bring empathy to a situation that anybody could find ourselves in.
Spots are limited to the first 80 who sign-up for this thought-provoking event and learning opportunity! Don’t miss out and come join us! Sign-up details on the below advertisement.
